TYPE OF CONTRIBUTIONS

The Water Technology and Sciences journal publishes work that offers original scientific and technological contributions related to water resources and related fields.

The contributions must be in the form of unpublished articles or notes.

Article: scientific document which, for the first time, addresses and communicates the results of successful research or innovation, which contributes to and increases current knowledge related to water resources; maximum of 30 pages.

Note: unpublished text which primarily addresses advances in the field of hydraulic engineering and professional water-related practices; maximum of 15 pages

LANGUAGES

The texts can be submitted in English or Spanish.

Once the work is accepted for publication, the authors shall submit the final version in both Spanish and English.

Note: The Water Technology and Sciences journal is not responsible for the quality of the translations that are obtained by the authors.

FORMAT

Font: Palatino throughout the document (body text, tables, and figures)

Letter size: the document will contain 8, 9, 10 and 20-point characters according to the following table (the template should be used to prepare the manuscripts):

  • Article: 30 pages (numbered), including figures and tables
  • Note: 15 pages (numbered), including figures and tables

Page: one page contains 235 words

Contents

Title

The title, written in Spanish and English, should be informative and may not exceed 12 words.

Abstract

The abstract, written in Spanish and English, should be concise and provide a broad overview of the investigation (objective, method, results, and conclusions), and may not exceed 250 words.

Keywords

Provide a maximum of eight key words or phrases in Spanish and English, which enable locating the information.

Footnotes

Not permitted. The information should be incorporated into the text.

Acknowledgements

To be included after the text and before the references.

Figures and tables

Figures and tables within the text where they should appear.

After the references, present a list of all the tables that are cited.

All of the names of the figures should be included after the tables.

Note: figures should be submitted separately in individual files (TIF, JPG, or EPS format) with high-resolution (300 ppi). Tables should not be in the form of images but rather editable text.

SEPARATION OF NUMBERS AND USE OF DECIMAL POINTS

Separate thousands with a blank space. Use a decimal point to separate whole numbers from fractions.

Refer to Panhispanic Dictionary of Doubts (Diccionario panhispánico de dudas), edited by the Real Academia Española (RAE) and the Association Spanish Language Academy, 2005, with respect to numeric expressions: “the Anglo-Saxon use of the period is acceptable, which is normal in certain Latin American countries…: π = 3.1416.”.

LETTER OF ORIGINALITY

A Letter of Originality must be submitted along with the article or note, and signed by the author who is submitting the work (corresponding author).
