TYPE OF CONTRIBUTIONS

The journal Tecnología y ciencias del agua publishes papers that present original scientific and technological input on water as a resource and its environment.

The collaborations must be unpublished articles or notes.

Article: scientific document that reports for the first time the results of a successful research or innovation, whose contributions increase the current knowledge in the matter of water; maximum 34 sheets.

Note: text that deals with developments in the field of hydraulics and professional practice in the matter of water, without it being necessarily an original input, although it must always be an unpublished work; maximum 19 sheets.

LANGUAGES

Text may refer in english or spanish

When the work is accepted for publication, authors must sent the final version in both languages: english and spanish

FORMAT

Font: Verdana for the entire document (text body, pictures and illustrations).

Font size: the document must be presented in 16, 14, 13 and 12 points, as explained in the following chart (refer to the template to draft manuscripts):

Spacing: 1 (simple).

Spacing after paragraph: 5 points.

Extent

CONTENT

Title

The title, drafted in english and spanish must be informative, and no more than 12 words long.

Summary
The summary, drafted in english and spanish (abstract) must be concise and provide a broad view of the research (objective, method, results and conclusions), and no more than 250 words long.

Keywords

A relation of maximum eight keywords or sentences must be drafted in english and spanish that will facilitate information retrieval.

Footers

Not admitted. They must be incorporated into the text.

Acknowledgements

Will be included after the texts and before references.

Equations

Equations must be made with Word´s equation editor, other equation formats will be rejected.

Figures and tables

Figures and tables within the text, where they must be.

High resolution is mandatory.

After the references, present a list of all the tables that are cited.

Note: Those same figures must be sent as a separate file (JPG or PNG format), in high resolution (300 ppp) and with only one element per figure, figures composed of independent elements will not be admitted; tables must not be images, but editable text.

References

In APA format sixth edition 2017

In the text APA system of author-date quotation will be used.

References at the end of the text must be in alphabetical order.

Number separation and use of the decimal point

The division between thousands will be pointed by a blank space; the point will be used to separate whole numbers from its fractions.

Thereon, will be resumed what the Diccionario panhispánico de dudas, published by the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) and the Association of academies of the spanish language, in 2005, states about the numerical expressions: “its accepted the anglosaxon usage of the point, common in some hispanic speaking countries…: π = 3.1416.”

LETTER OF ORIGINALITY

Its indispensable, refer the letter of originality signed by all the authors, in step 4 of sending “Load complimentary files”

Remember: the work file must not include data of the authors, these have to be registered in the OJS system in the section “INTRODUCE METADATA” in the section “Authors” and once the process is finished it cannot be modified.
