Dinámica laboral y reducción de la pobreza en Argentina
Keywords:
Argentina, poverty reduction, economic recovery, income, family´s characteristicsAbstract
Argentina has obtained extraordinary achievements in terms of combating poverty levels. While in 2002, 57% of the population lived in poverty at the end of 2006 this number has reduced to 27%. This remarkable reduction of poverty has not been the result of social protection policies through the transference of resources but it is the result of the recovery of economic activities and the creation of employment. Between 2002 and 2006 the economic growth has increased, the unemployment rate level has lowered and the earnings of workers have increased. This ar-ticle analyzes the impact of those who have improved their employment and their earnings and left poverty. The data come from the EPH (Encuesta Permanente de Hogares - Permanent Sur-vey on Households).Downloads
