Approximate calculation of critical depth in trapezoidal channels

Abstract

An equation capable of approximating the calculation of the critical depth in open channels of trapezoidal section is provided. This equation considers a practically linear relation between two adimensional parameters. The proposed equation is compared with other similar equations. There are certain advantages in favor of the equation proposed with respect to others in the literature.
