Tecnología y ciencias del agua accepts that reviewers use AI tools to facilitate the review of certain aspects of the article, but they must declare which AI was used and for what purpose.

Characteristics of a quality review 

Promptly

Respond to the invitation to the review within seven business days.

Deliver the opinion within 20 business days.

Courtesy

Comments must be specific and written in a polite manner.

Clarity

The review must be precise and concise

Objectivity

Avoiding value judgments and focusing on the quality and contributions of the article is essential. If a reviewer believes they have any type of conflict of interest or competing interests (personal, financial, intellectual, professional, political, or religious), they must decline the invitation.

Usefulness to the author

Comments must be accurate and substantive, so as to enhance the document regardless of the decision reached.
